Here are some projects I've worked on for a tradeshow in the Netherlands. It's just to exhibit some ideas on how to use our products. Headbands seem to be all the rage right now and you could easily make a custom one for yourself using paper. The small rose one is on a hair clip. I used MAMBI's new Holiday collection products found at Jo-Ann stores. I know, I know, Christmas in August is BS.
Here's another one I made using our Copper Willow collection, also at Jo-Ann's. It's a fall collection so I guess that's more reasonable for this time of year. My lovely co-worker is modeling it for you!
So apparently there's a new bear in town. His name is Rilakkuma which is a mash up of the word "relax" in English and "kkuma" which is bear in Japanese. He's supposed to be the "new Hello Kitty." He's been around since 2003 but his popularity in mainstream US has been building (as opposed to just with the Asians). He's seem like a pretty chill-lax kinda guy but man oh man does he have merch on the web...I thought these buttons were cute. ^_^ (haha you know I just had to do the Asian emoticon for this post)
Oi! It's been a very busy week at work. The days have been melting into another and I'm exhausted. We had a happy break from the madness by having a bridal shower for two of our employees that are getting married this year.
Here are the cards that I made for them. The first one was for on gal who's having a beach wedding.
The second was for a gal who's having a more typical big budget wedding. Haha, this small card booklet reminds me of an English gentlewoman reading Shakespeare sonnets by the countryside.
Ok, having said that....join me on Saturday, August 7th at Paradise Perks in Irvine for a Mission: India fundraiser! I'll be performing and selling some small stuff there. All the proceeds are tax deductible and will be going to help support a school and orphanage in India. Here are the details:
I recently went to Target looking for some water balloons. They didn't have it and they said they had already phased out their summer items for Back-To-School stuff...this was on July 31st. What the heck, it's not even August and already we're gearing up for fall. Seems a little hasty but maybe it's because I'm overly protective of summer vacation because I don't have one anymore.
Here's a quick & easy idea for shabby chic book covers for the students...posted originally on the MAMBI blog here.
Sunday afternoon, 70 something degrees, a gentle cool breeze, painterly wisps of white clouds...what can I say, California is like a dream sometimes. What a perfect day for a church picnic.
