best effing sunsets

I'll admit that California has an issue with air quality, cost of living, traffic, and over population just to name a few.  But damn it, you can't beat 73 degree weather in January with bitchin' sunsets like this.

valhalla table @ the camp

Probably my favorite meal is a burger with fries and a tall, cold draught beer.  Damn, I want a beer right now. 

My friend, Charles, took us to a place called Valhalla Table which is inside The Camp.  The Camp is across the street from The Lab or "The Anti Mall" and is much cooler in my opinion.  They had killer customer service and I really like their Belgium fries and beer menu.  Pictured above is a pint of Murphy's Stout...one of my top three favorite beers. 

Damn, I want a beer right now. 

foothills

Everyday I drive in traffic to get to work.  45 min is the average commute.  I sit on the 405 audibly cursing the cars around me that take their sweet damn time while the rest of us are running late.  I give dirty looks to all the cars that insist on going slow in the fast lane.  I shake my head in disgust to all the bottle-neckers that create more traffic behind them.  But once I exit Lake Forest Drive and get on this road I love my drive to work.  And once I get to the top of the hill and see the beautiful foothills in front of me all of that anger fades away as I stare at its beauty.  God, I love this part of my drive.

Mark and I have chosen the photographer for our wedding.  Nina is the sister of a friend and she's going to be spending the day with us shooting and capturing moments at our wedding.  She's a really creative and genuinely NICE gal and I'm excited to be working with her.  Check out her work, here.

omg, america's test kitchen RADIO!

Oh my word, America's Test Kitchen has started a new radio program.  That's just awesome in my book.  Taking cues from NPR they're ramping up the listener participation and delving in to more details of the world of food.  AWESOME.  I can't wait to to go home and listen to the program!  Click here to check it out for yourself.

nightmares

So for the past year and a half I've been suffering from nightmares and for a while they stopped but now they've started again.  Only this time the storyline has changed.  Last night I dreamt that it was the day of my wedding and I had completely forgotten to order flowers.  It sounds funny now but in my dream I was mortified.  Haha

sara bareilles + single ladies

I really like Sara Bareilles and what I respect is the fact that she writes her own music, she can actually sing without the help of auto-tune, and she's an artist.  It's really awesome to see great talent amidst so many bad music "artists" on the music scene today.  Here's a neat reinterpretation of "Single Ladies."

Have you seen President Obama's book to his daughters?  I got an email from Borders and saw it.  It's called Of Thee I Sing.  It's just beautifully illustrated and tenderly written.  I kind of teared up while watching the YouTube clip on the book.  I think it would be a great book for schools and families.
