Congress is one vote away from cutting off all support for public broadcasting, including NPR. 89.3 KPCC is the local radio station that broadcasts NPR as well as providing local coverage the way NPR covers the nation. "In depth coverage", "No rant, no slant" are two slogans that I think sum up KPCC really well. We spend money on a lot of things...things we need and things we don't.
